Founded in 2018, Harugakuin has been guiding students to master Japanese with confidence and cultural understanding.
For Nikhil, it started the way it does for many — late nights watching anime, pausing to catch a phrase, rewinding to hear it again. But where most people moved on, he leaned in. There was something in the language that felt alive: layered, precise, and tied to a culture in a way no subtitle could fully capture.
That curiosity became structured study. The deeper he went, the more he understood that Japanese isn't just a language — it's a lens through which an entire civilisation expresses itself. Along the way, friends started asking for help, and he noticed that most resources online were accurate but lifeless. Great teaching, he believed, had to make Japan feel close — not just correct.
Anime opened the door. The gap between subtitles and what was actually being said was impossible to ignore — and that curiosity never left.
Grammar guides, kanji drills, JLPT preparation — a full commitment to the language and the culture behind it.
Spring Academy was born. Named for the Japanese new school year — a time of sakura, fresh starts, and the quiet courage of beginning something new.
500+ students across continents. JLPT success stories from N5 to N2. A community united by a genuine love for Japan — its language, its stories, its way of seeing the world.
Learning Japanese changed the way I see the world. I wanted to build a place where that kind of transformation was available to anyone, anywhere — not just the lucky few near a good school.
